MEET JUDY
Judy Carter is a multidisciplinary artist whose world moves between Toronto and Muskoka, where she works as a jeweller, ceramist, textile artist, and boutique owner. She is the founder of Jude, a jewelry and ceramics brand built around organic forms, tactile textures, and meaningful storytelling.
Trained in art and design at OCAD, Judy has spent decades exploring textiles, jewelry, and ceramics, shaped by time in Japan, international travel, and a love of fashion and slow craft. Her one-of-a-kind boro flannels, linen pieces, and ceramics reflect that blend of global influence and thoughtful making.
In Muskoka, she leads L’eau Muskoka, a dockside boutique in Port Carling known for its modern, resort-inspired mix of clothing, jewelry, and home pieces, along with her in-house L’eau Atelier designs.
A maker at heart, Judy approaches her work as a way to build connection. Many of her clients become friends, and her designs often hold quiet symbolic elements — like the hand-drawn flower inspired by a note to her mother, now a recurring motif in her brand.
INSPIRATION
Jude’s designs are born from the belief that true beauty is found in the perfectly imperfect. Inspired by the Japanese concept of wabi sabi, each piece of jewelry reflects the natural world with organic shapes, fluid forms, and the quiet elegance of things shaped by time.
Handcrafted in Toronto
Crafted by skilled artisans, Jude’s pieces are soulful and one of a kind. The design process is intuitive and unrefined — never forced, always evolving. It’s about embracing the messiness of life, honouring imperfections, and celebrating the stories that make each piece unique.
One-of-a-Kind
Each design is made to be loved for a lifetime. With fair wages and a commitment to quality, Jude’s jewelry is meant to be passed down, cherished, and worn through time. It’s a fusion of tradition and modernity— where craftsmanship and meaning meet to create something timeless
Please note: Our pieces are made in solid gold and sterling silver, metals that naturally fluctuate global value. We adjust pieces periodically to reflect these changes, ensuring fair value for both our collectors and our makers.
